John Berry BA BSc MBA CEng FIET FCMI
Managing Director

Following a student apprenticeship with GEC Marconi, John's career started in radiocommunications design with Marconi Mobile Radio and then with Philips and Aircall where he was responsible for mobile, base station, microwave link and infrastructure equipment development.  In 1983 he was appointed Manager - Radio Propagation Group in Philips and was responsible for the design of several major civil and military networks. He held management positions with Philips where, as Product Development Manager, he was responsible for the design and production of a range of base stations and fixed links.  Later in Philips he was responsible for the product management of all systems products and for the marketing of the systems capability.  Moving to Maxon as Marketing Manager he specified and managed the replacement of their subscriber product range and with MEL Communications, as Business Unit Manager, he led the management buy out from MEL to form what became ATDI Ltd. Since then he has been a regular presenter on radio subjects at civil and military international symposiums.  As Managing Director of ATDI he has for 10 years led major radio consultancy and software engineering projects.

Cyprien de Cosson BEng MIET
Products Director

Cyprien has over 10 years experience in the radio communications business starting as a development engineer with MEL Communications. As a development engineer he was responsible for the design of RF equipment and civil communications. At ATDI he is responsible for the specification, development and management of existing and new products to enhance the company product portfolio. Educated at Bristol University he holds a BEng in Electronics Engineering and is a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology.

Adrian Graham RD BEng CEng MIET
Business Development Director

Adrian's first job was for Marconi Underwater Systems Ltd as a test engineer, assessing the performance of warship and submarine sonar systems in their operational environment.  He has worked for the MOD as an analyst and, following a period with MEL Communications as a business development manager, he joined the then Spectrum Group working with John Berry.   Adrian is currently managing the Pilot Battlespace Spectrum Management System (PBSMS) project for the MOD. 

Nick Kirkman BEng CEng MIET
Communications Modelling Lead Engineer

Nick's career in engineering began in 1979 when he joined Cable & Wireless College to complete an HNC.  Following this he worked for C&W all over the world as a Watchkeeper on Ascension Island, as a Installation Engineer in Saudi Arabia and as a System Management Engineer in Tonga.  In the Caribbean he was responsible for the installation and maintenance of their digital microwave radio link network. In 2001 he moved to ATDI where he has undertaken several major projects such as the design of the Ofcom coordination tool for Band III and a coordination tool for emergency service users in the Irish Sea area. He has also acted as a consultant of several large projects for the UK Home Office.

Sarah Roddis Cert Soc Sci (Open)
Office Manager

Sarah joined ATDI in 2000 shortly after completing her A-levels.  After four years with the company she became Office Manager in November 2004.  Since joining ATDI Sarah has gained a Certificate in Social Sciences through the Open University and a level 3 Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration, and is currently studying for a Diploma in English Language with the Open University. 

 
Sarah Sasson CIM
Marketing Manager

Sarah joined ATDI in 2001. Her experience gained within the telecom industry meant Sarah was well placed to take on business development and marketing. Sarah's role incorporates customer contact, initiating marketing initiatives, sales activity, management of database and marketing campaigns plus plenty more. Since joining ATDI Sarah has received her CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing and a certificate in Public Relations.

Peter Paul BSc MIET
Mobile Networks Lead Engineer

Peter's career in engineering began in 1977 with the Royal Air Force. After 13 years in the RAF Peter moved to Securicor Datatrak as a field engineer. In this role he maintained, installed and commissioned elements of the automatic vehicle location network. He later moved into the post of UHF planning engineer and was instrumental in the design of other Datatrak networks around the world. He joined ATDI in May 2000.



Kevin Morrison BEng MIET
Software Engineering Lead

Kevin joined ATDI from Thales Defence Electronics. In his role as senior software engineer Kevin was responsible for designing, programming, testing and documenting software modules. Working mainly in C++, he was involved in designing and implementing control frameworks for distributed systems, which involved creating multithreaded base class designs. Kevin has a BEng Computer Engineering from the University of Portsmouth . At ATDI Kevin is responsible for software development under the auspices of the product development director.

 

Paul Grant BSc MIET
Access Networks Lead Engineer

Paul joined us from Telabria Networks, a WiMAX network operator and wireless product developer, where he was Network Engineering Manager. Previously he worked for BT as a Technical Consultant for their wireless broadband rollout and also as a Project Manager for other wireless broadband projects. Paul has an Honours Degree in Physics from Bath University. At ATDI Paul supports Northern Europe including Germany.

 

Torsten Zoehl MSc Dipl.-Inf MIET
Radiocommunications Engineer                                    

Torsten recently graduated from Rostock University, Germany, with a first-class honours degree in Information Sciences. He has experience in both wireless meshed networks and WiMAX/FWA technologies. He undertook his student placement with ATDI in 2004. Torsten will be the main point of contact for German customers and will coordinate the company's work there.
